I can’t tell you how nice it is to hear that my Joy Ride newsletter offers you some goodness. I truly love putting it together and hearing from you.
Your Pep Talk 👫🏻👫🏻
As the only kid of divorced immigrant parents, I’m used to doing things, like applying for financial aid, on my own. But it wasn’t until I fully leaned into my support team—friends, my husband, my dog—that I learned that I need moral support just as much as anyone else.
Every newsletter, I pick a theme. When I looked up “moral support” in the dictionary, this definition struck me: One may not be able to offer any concrete assistance except empathy.
With our social distancing, masks on, and Zoom meetings, it can feel like we’re on little islands. I can’t offer you any actual assistance where you are, but I can offer you an empathetic nod, smile, and understanding. I can say that you’re not alone. If you’re not okay, tell someone you love. Lean into your support care team. We need each other—more than ever.
