Your Pep Talk 🧗🏽♀️
This feels scary to share, but I’ve decided to take a pause from journalism. I’ve loved writing for my favorite publications over the years. It used to be my greatest source of joy.
To be honest, I’m burnt out. I’m tired of self-advocating for fair pay, or getting harassed for pieces I’ve written. For a long time, “journalist” has been a big part of my identity. This quote from artist Morgan Harper Nichols helped me to see that I’m not failing if I need some extra time to slow down. It’s not a forever end, but a pause to shift gears.
I share this because I hope that inspires you to take those leaps that feel scary, but are right for you right now.
My Latest News 📖
I got my first book blurb for ARTIFACTS OF AN EX!!! I’m working on book #2 right now, and am enjoying the creative process of a brand new book idea coming together.
Check Out This... 😂🦖🍩
TV SHOW: Loot (Apple+) is hilarious. Maya Rudolph and the stellar cast (Michaela Jaé Rodriguez ! Joel Kim Booster!) star in this comedy about a billionaire philanthropist.
MOVIE: Jurassic World Dominion. I’ve loved the Jurassic Park series since the very beginning and seeing the original cast in this one did not disappoint.
BOOK: Yummy: A History of Desserts by Victoria Grace Elliott. My family and I adore sweets so this nonfiction graphic novel about how cakes, doughnuts, and ice cream were created is fun and fascinating.
FUNDRAISER: Join me in donating to UpRising Bakery and Cafe, a LGBTQ+ bakery in Chicago suburb that was recently vandalized to support rebuilding it.
I'm Grateful For...
A beautiful beach day with my family. For me, there’s nothing more soothing than the sound of ocean waves and the cool feel of wet sand.

I can’t wait to read your book! So glad you are taking care of yourself! The beach and nature are sources of great joy! 💕👍
